Catholics for Choice Speaker at HSU
Jon O’Brien, president of Catholics for Choice, a life-long Catholic and leader in the sexual and reproductive rights movement, will speak on Thursday, January 29, at 5:30 pm at Humboldt State University. The program will include the screening of a 45-minute documentary-style film, “The Secret History of Sex, Choice and Catholics.” The film features interviews with leading experts in the fields of theology, philosophy and ethics who examine Catholic traditions, teachings and beliefs on the following key issues: abortion and contraception, HIV and AIDS, sex and sexuality, new reproductive health technologies and religion in public policy. After the film, Mr. O’Brien who served as Executive Producer, will answer questions and lead discussion.
