Build with Hemp and Local Fiber
Klara Marosszeky, industrial hemp industry leader from Australia journeys to northern California. Come learn about sustainability and resiliency for rural communities through the lens of industrial hemp. Healthy housing, regenerative agriculture, waste reclamation, fire protection, allergen-free shelter, energy savings, and economic opportunity will be discussed at this hands-on, interactive and innovative workshop. We will build a prototype hempcrete wall employing both imported industrial hemp hurd and Batichanvre hydraulic lime, as well as short fibers derived from non-psychoactive cannabis stalks collected from Humboldt county sungrown organic farms. Films will be screened and hemp foods will be offered as well.
