He has written songs in styles ranging from folk, to jazz-influenced rock, to flat out rock and roll and just as his musical style has varied through the years, his song lyrics have dealt with a broad range of topics that reveal his unyielding passion for human rights and political issues that few musicians embrace with as much fervor and artistic aplomb.
