Blessing of the Animals
St. Alban’s Episcopal Church invites the community, and their pets, to join them at this year’s Blessing of the Animals. This one hour outdoor service begins with a chili cook-off and light meal after which pets will be blessed at 4:30 p.m. The Blessing of the Animals is a tradition that occurs in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. St. Alban’s parishioners will be competing to determine who serves the best chili. Participants will be the judges. After the contest, the chili will be served.
