Breaking Away (1979)
In celebration and promotion of Bike Month Humboldt, the Eureka Theater is proud to present the movie Breaking Away, an iconic 1979 American “coming of age” comedic drama. The movie will be free, and everyone is invited. This PG-rated classic film features great bicycle racing footage of a college team racing a non-college team, nicknamed “The Cutters.” This Academy Award-winning film consistently places in the top ten American sports movies of all time. The screening is co-sponsored by Henderson Center Umpqua Bank, the Humboldt Bay Bicycle Commuters Association, and the Redwood Coast Energy Authority.
