AAI Figure Drawing Show
Please join the Arcata Art Institute (AAI) for the reception of its annual Figure Drawing exhibition Sunday April 12th at Ramones Bakery & Café on Harrison in Eureka (2297 Harrison). The reception is from 3-5pm. Students are presenting a variety of work they completed in their Figure Drawing workshop. This is an ongoing afterschool workshop taught by locally renowned artist Joyce Jonte, whose figurative work can be seen throughout Humboldt County. Students created drawings of visiting models in both short and long poses. They used a variety of drawing media while creating their artwork. Each of the drawings exhibited in this show represents each artist’s personal style that they honed while working with Ms. Jonte. This workshop is generously funded by the Humboldt Area Foundation. The Arcata Arts Institute is a "school within a school" for advanced art study at Arcata High School.
