Redwood Rescue Project

Update 11/23/09: Press-Democrat covers the story pretty well.

Join the Redwood Forest Foundation and help us save 100,000 young Redwood trees from destruction! Originally grown for reforestation of previously harvested timberland, the current economic crisis will leave these trees homeless - unless we act now. They must be planted by January 31, 2010 or they will not survive.

Sequoia Redwoods, Thanksgiving Coffee, KHUM, KOZT, and KHSU and KHSR have teamed up to find homes for these young redwood trees. Sequoia Redwoods will house and care for the trees and prepare them for transport. Thanksgiving Coffee will transport the trees to their new homes in their bio-diesel powered trucks.

KHUM will track the progress as these Redwood saplings find homes.
