Writing Workshop: Exploring Our Legacies

What will be my legacy? The answer is rooted in the past, lived in the present, and passed on into the future. This workshop will explore writing: letters, tiny stories, life outlines, and whatever else we can think of to look at experiences. Aging, invisibility, sex, humor, photographs, working, love, marriage, mothering, death, friendship -- anywhere you want to go in search of your legacies.

Patti Stammer became writing addicted after taking a class called “The Stories of Our Lives” when she was 65. After years of being encouraged to write about her adventures, she finally found an audience for her passion…her family. She and her sister, eight years younger, grew up as “virtual” only children without sharing many of the same cast of characters in their memories of childhood. Telling tales of youth, jobs, travels, deaths and all the stuff of life is her legacy to her sister, her daughter and three remarkable granddaughters.
