The Distance of The Moon

WATCH TEASER HERE: http://vimeo.com/86042960 Opening February 20, Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre presents The Distance of the Moon, a theatrical adaptation of the short story by Italo Calvino, performed by our second-year M.F.A. class. The eight-performer ensemble will combine acrobatics, music, and movement to create a truly unique performance event. The Distance of the Moon tells the story of Qfwfq, an old sailor who recalls a time when the Earth and the Moon were only a few meters apart, when he and his crew would row out to sea and climb up to the moon on a ladder. The crew find themselves in all kinds of gravity-related difficulties while harvesting “moon milk,” and Qfwfq gradually falls in love with Mrs. Vhd Vhd, the Captain’s wife. When the Earth and Moon start to drift apart, Qfwfq finds himself stranded with Mrs. Vhd Vhd in a lunar exile, and seizes a daring opportunity to get back home. Reservations recommended.
