Silk Road Junction 101

The Fortuna Library will be hosting the musical duo Tinku Rahman Abdur and Sarah McClimon of Silk Road Junction 101. This evening of traditional music is free to everyone and open to the public.

The duo draws on their experience of living in the East and West, and the name Silk Road Junction 101 is a reference to Abdur and McClimon’s homes in Bangladesh, Japan, and the West Coast of the United States. Both hold doctorates in music with training at the University of Hawaii and Tokyo University of the Arts. Abdur plays the South Asian table drums, and McClimon plays the Japanese koto and flute.

This event is sponsored by The Mel & Grace McLean Foundation, Fortuna Sunrise Rotary, Friends of the Trinidad Library, Friends of the Garberville Library, and Friends of the Fortuna Library.
