Silent Sirens

The Ink Annex, which hosts 3 DreamMakers Projects of the Ink People Center for the Arts, is hosting a silent art auction to benefit their building. Silent Sirens will be held at the Siren's Song Tavern, 325 Second Street, Eureka, California from 7 pm to 10 pm on September 20th. Work to be auctioned will include both local Humboldt artists and young Bay Area artists, for an eclectic mix of artistic styles and media. Music provided by DJ Dee Coffinated of The Placebo. The Ink Annex building is at 47B West 3rd Street in Eureka. Groups include; the Placebo, an arts and music center run for and by youth, the Giant Squid Artists' Collective, focused on maintaining traditional printing techniques, and Anguished Records, a D.I.Y. recording studio and distribution network for local music of any genre. All of these groups are open to the public, and spend countless hours dedicated to community and particularly youth involvement. All groups aim at creating a safe space for community members of all ages.
