Redwood Region Audubon Society is sponsoring a presentation by expedition leader Ted Cheeseman entitled "Diving with Penguins and Soaring with Albatrosses." We are starting to learn about some of the amazing feats of these birds (e.g., albatrosses sometimes fly 14,000 miles to bring home just one meal for a chick) just as their populations are being reduced by overfishing and climate change. Ted will describe how recent research methods, especially GPS telemetry, have given us new insights into the lives of these magnificent seabirds. Join him on this entertaining journey with some of the world's greatest mariners. Bring a mug to enjoy shade-grown coffee and come fragrance-free.
