Peet Guercio
The Associated Students of College of the Redwoods will present a performance by standup comedian Peet Guercio on Feb. 13 at 6:00 p.m. in the CR Performing Arts Theater. Admission is $3.00.
Peet Guercio is a standup comedian from Los Angeles who has hosted a game show for MTV, written for Comedy Central, and performed with Louis CK, Dane Cook, Sarah Silverman, and Daniel Tosh.
Peet cut his teeth at Denver's famous Squire Lounge, known as one of the meanest mics in the country. Training in unforgiving dive bars made him lean and mean when it was time to hit the proper comedy venues, and this training regimen shows in his act.
His charismatic performance style mixed with razor-sharp wit and fresh perspective make him a joy to watch. His infectious energy comes through not only in his unconventional material, but also in quick-thinking, playful crowdwork.
Two standup videos filmed 6 months after he started performing went viral and received over 120,000 views through only word of mouth, then a third video got 56,000 views in one day and surpassed 100,000 soon after.
After only 8 months of standup, he was named one of the top 10 comics of Colorado in a statewide contest against over 300 other performers.
