Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore
Join us for a fun and lively group discussion of Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan. Sloan's debut novel is about a laid-off Silicon Valley tech worker who begins working at a dusty bookstore with very few customers, only to start discovering one secret after another. The mysterious old books, along with the store's owner, lead to a 500 year old secret society. It’s a tale of books and technology, cryptography and conspiracy, friendship and love. This month's group discussion will be led by Martha Scott.The Thursday Afternoon Book Club meets every 2nd Thursday of the month from 12-1 in the large meeting room. Brown bag lunch is permitted but not provided. No reservations are necessary ~ just show up! If you haven’t had a chance to read the book that’s okay ~ we welcome you just the same!
