McKinleyville Land Trust Annual Dinner

The McKinleyville Land Trust (MLT) invites the public to attend its fourteenth annual fundraiser at Azalea Hall in McKinleyville on Saturday evening, March 7. The menu features chicken cacciatore or baked eggplant, both with pasta, Tomaso’s sauce, fresh mixed green salad, bread from the North Coast Co-op Bakery, Ramone’s coffee or tea, and dessert. HSU emeritus geology professor, Don Garlick, will present a lecture and slide show ‘Our Planet of Plants: The Interrelationships of Plants, Oxygen, Climate and Our Place in the Web of Life’. Silent auction, raffle, and no-host wine and beer bar open at 5 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling 839-LAND. The purpose of the McKinleyville Land Trust is to conserve local open space for ecological, historical, agricultural, educational, recreational and scenic values. This year, MLT has the permits and partial funding to start construction of a trails project on their Chah-Gah-Cho property south of the Mill Creek Shopping Center in McKinleyville. MLT is seeking financial and community support to complete this project in the next year or two.
