March of the Penguins (2005)

Every winter, alone in the pitiless ice deserts of Anartica, a truly remarkable thing takes place as it has for millenia. Emperor Penguins by the thousands abandon the security of their ocean home and gather single file, to trek through the most inhospitable terrain on Earth blinded by blizzards and buffeted by the gale force winds. This 22 time award-winning documentary by film maker Luc Jacquet tells the story of one year in the life of a flock as they march to “Oamack”. Once there, they procreate, protect and feed their young for months before returning to the sea. Later, guided by instinct, their progeny head to ocean where they stay for four years. Then after reaching their adult life, they follow the same pattern of their parents. Experience this epic journey that covers everything from: birth to death, dating to mating, comedy to tragedy, and love to fighting for survival. Narrated by Morgan Freeman.
