Magic Mike (2012)
Inspired by a real life story, Magic Mike, directed by Steven Soderbergh is set in the world of male strippers. Mike Lane (Channing Tatum) is by day, a thirty year old roofer pursuing his passion of starting a furniture making business, but by night he is Magic Mike. The star attraction of a group of male strippers known as the Kings of Tampa at the club Xquisite, owned and operated by the empire building Dallas (Matthew McConaughey). One day during his construction job Mike meets Adam (Alex Pettyfer) a naive nineteen year old looking for his place in adult life while living on his protective sister Brooke’s (Cody Horn) couch. Mike takes Adam under his wing and introduces him to the life of partying, picking up women, and making easy money. However soon enough, success goes to Adam’s head and his actions start to threaten Mikes ambitions.
