HSU Guest Artist Series: Trombonist Craig Hull

Please join the Humboldt State University Department of Music for another great Guest Artist Series concert featuring trombonist Craig Hull on Friday, April 12th at 8:00 p.m. in Fulkerson Recital Hall. The Crescent City native and HSU graduate will be joined by pianist John Chernoff, performing superb repertoire including Concert Sketch No. 5 by Vladislav Blazhevich, Concerto for Trombone and Piano by Ida Gotkovsky, Sonata for Trombone and Piano by Donald White, and Ballade by Eugene Bozza. $15 General, $5 Child, $5 HSU students with ID. Craig Hull currently resides in Greeley, Colorado where he works as a private music instructor, clinician, and freelance trombonist. He has performed as principal or assistant principal trombonist with the Larimer Chorale, the Greeley Chamber Orchestra, the Flatiron Orchestra, Midtown Arts Center, the Golden Brass Quintet, as well as the University of Northern Colorado Symphony Orchestra and University Wind Ensemble. On the west coast, Craig has worked as principal or assistant principal trombonist with the Eureka Symphony, Swaying Redwood Brass Quintet, Diggin Dirt, Symphony of the Redwoods, as well as the HSU Wind Ensemble and Humboldt Symphony. Craig received his Bachelor of Arts in Trombone Performance from Humboldt State University in 2016 under the direction of Dr. Dan Aldag, and his Master of Music in Trombone Performance from the University of Northern Colorado in 2018 under the direction of Dr. Nat Wickham. Off the stage and out of the practice room, Craig is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys kayaking, sailing, skiing, rafting, and hiking. He has also worked as an Outdoor Guide for Center Activities in Arcata, leading trips for adults and youths alike.
