How To Live With Less Waste

The public is invited to join the City of Eureka in launching its Zero Waste planning process on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. This event will be held at the Adorni Center at 1011 Waterfront Dr. in Eureka from 6pm-7:30pm. Participants will be involved in the planning process and learn how to live with less waste and how small changes can make a big impact. This will be achieved through a video presentation and interactive group discussion. This event will include food, drinks, and a free raffle to win reusable items. This is a family friendly event and will even have free childcare available. City staff will be leading the Zero Waste planning process and with Zero Waste Humboldt consultants who will be on hand to take suggestions and questions from participants. Zero waste is a goal to send nothing to the landfill by refusing, reducing, reusing, and recycling. Let’s work together to transform Eureka into a Zero Waste community. Innovative approaches to reducing waste can become a point of pride for Eureka. We can take the lead to creating a more sustainable community and planet. To learn more about the August 7th and other upcoming events, and to become involved in Eureka’s Zero Waste goal-setting, contact Robin Praszker at (707) 441-4206 or visit www.gozeroeureka.org.
