Hawaiian Chieftain Tall Ship Walk On Tour

EUREKA TO WELCOME HAWAIIAN CHIEFTAIN APRIL 11-16

 The Eureka community will host the tall ship Hawaiian Chieftain for its annual visit to the city’s waterfront near the Adorni Recreation Center from April 11-17. Eureka is the next-to-last stop for the vessels’ 2012-2013 tour of California ports. Hawaiian Chieftain, launched in 1988, specializes in K-12 educational programs.

The ships will present sailing and dockside education programs to area K-12 students, walk-on tours, and public sailing excursions, including a value-priced sail on April 17. Here’s the public schedule for the ships: 

4/12: Walk-on tours, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. No reservation required; $3 donation per person requested.

4/13-14: Walk-on tours, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. No reservation required; $3 donation per person requested. 

4/13-14: Battle Sails, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., $40-$60. 

4/14: Adventure Sail (Hawaiian Chieftain only), 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. $39 all ages. 

4/16-17: Walk-on tours, 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. No reservation required; $3 donation per person requested.
