Free Emergency Preparedness Training

CITY OF ARCATA AND RSVP/VOLUNTEER CENTER OF THE REDWOODS OFFER FREE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS TRAINING Most of us know that we need to be prepared to take care of ourselves and our families for 3-7 days in case of an emergency. That’s how long it could take fire and rescue crews to reach us in a huge emergency, like a big earthquake. But we’re all busy and the idea of putting an emergency kit and plan together can seem overwhelming. The City of Arcata and RSVP/Volunteer Center of the Redwoods can help. On Monday, September 22, from 7-8:30 pm at the City Council Chambers in the Arcata City Hall, 736 F St., a free 1 ½ hour “Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness Training” will be held. Everyone is welcome. The training will give you the information you need to get your neighbors and your family together to plan ahead and get ready for the next emergency. Why wait for the next earthquake? Come to the Arcata City Council Chambers on 9/22/14 at 7 pm and get prepared now. For more information, please call Maureen McGarry at RSVP/VCOR, (707) 442-3763 ext. 218 or email mmcgarry@a1aa.org
