The Ink Annex, a DreamMakers Project of the Ink People Center for the Arts, is proud to present five local folk music acts at Folked: A Benefit for the Ink Annex. The concert and barbeque will be held at 47B W. 3rd Street in Eureka, CA from 12 noon to 6 pm, and the cover is $2.00 at the door. All proceeds will benefit the Placebo https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Placebo/13435401985 and Giant Squid Artists' Collective, two DreamMaker Projects in need of financial support and funds to renovate their building. Food will be served for free with entry, and $2.00 charged per beer for those 21 and older with ID.
Performers will include an eclectic array of eccentrics appropriate for the “Folked in the Face” lineup. Tapeworm is the solo project of local favorite Force of Nature bassist Will Stephens. Cornbread Kelly describes himself as a “Whiskey drankin', ass grabbin', cigarette rollin' good time.” Rizzy performs deceptively upbeat ukulele melodies “about love and drinking.” Brett the Truck is both a famed folk singer/composer and a caterer by trade. Griddle Cakes is a Colorado native duo who plays “upbeat, foot stomping cowboy tunes.”
Alongside the music, visitors will get a chance to procure custom screen prints, and provide their own artwork to the Framewall Bathroom Gallery. $1.00 raffle tickets give participants the chance to win one of 5 art pieces donated by Giant Squid artists, and a grand prize cash lump sum from the fifty-fifty raffle.
