FLOW- Arcata Arts Institute’s premier runway event. This fashion showcase is the culminating event for Arcata Arts Institute’s fashion design students. Original wearable designs are conceived of and constructed by AAI students. This year we have 11 designers, over 40 models on the runway, and include everything from laser cut wings to stunning evening wear. Our designers are from all of our curricular strands, both visual and performing art. The production itself is student run, including marketing (poster, program, ticket design, and press releases), sound, lighting, studio and event photography/video. Artist experts from our community are part of all aspects of the event to support for our students’ learning. The show is at the Arcata Theatre Lounge, May 28th, doors open at 7:30pm, show starts at 8:00pm. Tickets are for sale at Hot Knots on the Arcata Plaza. This event is a true metaphor for what AAI is, vibrant community partnerships, within a rigorous, advanced level arts program within Arcata High School, a rural, comprehensive public high school.
