Eureka Theater 75th Anniversary Jubilee
The Eureka Theater, born in 1939, hosts a two day celebration of its 75th birthday. Saturday, March 1 - 1939 movies will be shown all day long, beginning with The Wizard of Oz at noon. Kids will meet Dorothy and others from Oz who will pose for photos and sing Oz-ian songs. Admission: 1939 prices - ten cents for kids under 12 and 35 cents for everyone else. Other movies: Stagecoach, Ninotchka, The Hound of the Baskervilles, Son of Frankenstein, Another Thin Man. Sunday, March 2 - In partnership with the Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commission, the Theater will host an Oscar party with a live telecast of the 86th Academy Awards on the big screen.
