Enrolling Now - Karate A to Z: Martial Arts Alphabet Classes

Enrolling Now, Beginning in November: Karate A to Z is designed specifically to meet the emotional and physical needs of young children, ages 3.5-5 years. Incorporating martial arts skills such as focus, balance, strength, coordination, and self-control, provides students with an awareness of the sights and sounds of the alphabet. The result is a reading readiness program that is fun and helps children develop visual and phonetic familiarity with the alphabet as well as teaches them vocabulary for social growth and invaluable life skills. Classes are held at the Judo Hut, 800 F St located on the Arcata Ballpark level. Class days/times are Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4pm. Monthly Fee: $50 / $61 non-resident. Uniform: $30 (pay to instructor). Teacher: Jenna Mulvey has been teaching Tae Kwon Do for 15 years under Shihan Tony Lerma at America’s Best Karate. In 2010, she received her 1st degree black belt and in 2012 began solo teaching. She received her 2nd degree in 2014 and in 2018 her 3rd degree black belt. She is attending Humboldt State to pursue a major in Child Development and Family Relations with a minor in Recreation Administration. When she is not studying martial arts, she enjoys exploring Humboldt County, cooking and photography.
