Emergency Medical Technician Certification

August 21 - December 12 Monday - Tuesday • 5:30 PM - 10:30 PM The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides basic life support care to critically ill or injured patients. EMTs learn to manage airways using artifi cial devices, assess the severity of illness or injury, manage wounds and bleeding, immobilize fractures, perform CPR, utilize an automated defi brillator and assist with administration of some medications. Requirements & Corequisites: 18 years of age at time of course completion, 160 classroom hours, 24 field and clinical observation hours, CPR for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent, background check through Certified Background Company ($45 not included in course fee), immunizations or proof of immunizations for TB, Hepatitis B, influenza. Registration Deadline: Friday before the course
