Cultivating Resilience: Online Art and Culture Symposium
+Brought to you by the Ink People and the Center for Cultural Innovation (CCI).

Join us from the comfort of your home for shared learning and professional development. This symposium will center art and culture as strategies for adaptation, response, and renewal.

Two days of presentations:
Day 1, Friday 8/21/20, 4-6pm:
Conversations on Cultivating Resilience with Julian Lang, Brittany Britton, Argie Munoz, Alissa Pattison, Monique Desir, Octavio Acosta, Leslie Castellano, and Laura Poppiti (CCI).
Presenters will talk about their perspectives on resilience from their personal and cultural practices. We will then break out into discussion groups about how artists' resilience is necessary for social transformation and survival.

Day 2, Saturday 8/22/20, 1-2:30pm:
Choose from 2 Workshops-
1) Cultivating Resilience: Sustaining Your Art Business panel
with Krista Smith (Oakland-based consultant specializing in fundraising, funding advocacy, and networking) and HA Pearson (Eureka-based business owner of "The Bodega", artist selling nationally through a wide variety of platforms).
Participants will learn strategies for adaptation and response for artist business practices during the present landscape.
2) Cultivating Resilience: Equity Takes Practice
with (SF-based artist, curator, and consultant) Rhiannon Evans MacFadyen. In this workshop, participants will recognize/name colonial practices/language/thinking and develop strategies for transforming these toxic practices (and ensure that the labor of transformation doesn't keep falling entirely on POC folks but, rather, that institutions are held accountable/take responsibility.)
