Candlelight Walk in the Redwoods

Guided only by candlelight, experience the stillness and beauty of the ancient redwoods.

Begin the evening at the Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park Visitor Center, then enjoy a ranger-led walk through the ancient redwood forest lit by 200 luminaries, a warm campfire and stories for all ages by the North Coast Storytellers. Participants then return to the visitor center for refreshments. Donation of $10 per person or $12 per family for the walk is suggested.

Afterwards, for those interested, there will be a Dutch raffle and silent auction with items donated by local merchants, a fun way to get a head start on Christmas shopping while supporting your parks.

Dress warmly, wear sturdy shoes for the half-mile walk and bring a candle that is enclosed in a plastic cup (along with a flashlight for the walk back from the campfire.)

In case of rain, the entire program will be held in the Visitor Center. Sponsored by Redwood Parks Association (707) 464-9150

Directions: The Prairie Creek Visitor Center is located on the Newton B Drury Parkway, 1 mile north of exit 753 off Highway 101, Five miles north of Orick and 50 miles north of Eureka.
