Broadcast live on KHUM during The South Side, starting at 7pm: A Tribute to Little Walter with Mark Hummel, James Harman, Corky Siegel, Little Charlie Baty, plus special guest Buddy Reed and the Rip it Ups.
Little Walter Jacobs is one of the most influential Blues Harmonica players of all time. Hummel states, “Walter changed all the rules and raised the bar so high that nobody has yet surpassed him either in innovation or technical prowess. Walter’s original sides have become the holy grail all other harp players are still trying to aspire to”.
Opening for these blues survivors is Buddy Reed and the Rip it Ups...Reed is well known for his time with the band Bacon Fat and has played with Little Richard, Big Mama Thorton, and Muddy Waters. He is a 1998 inductee into the Arizona Blues Hall of Fame and is sure to make Blue Lake’s Blues Blowout a rockin’ good time!
