Big Al's Bramble Bash & Georgia Style BBQ: A Rockin' Restoration Event!

Come one come all! We invite you all to get down and dirty at Redwood Roots Farm as we battle the non-native, invasive Himalayan Blackberry plants near the bank of our local Jacoby Creek. This restoration effort to remove invasive blackberry will help restore native salmonid habitat and encourage the growth of native plant species. This is a great opportunity to kick off the beautiful Humboldt summertime with some hands-on restoration in the magnificent Jacoby Creek watershed followed by a delicious BBQ to boot. Local grass-fed beef and vegan sloppy joes will be provided by the Jacoby Creek Land Trust! Bring your own plate and utensils if needed. Snacks and coffee will be provided - please bring your own coffee mug and water vessel! We are striving to make this event as zero-waste as possible! GF options will be available. There will also be a competition for the longest blackberry rhizome… The winner gets a prize! This event is rain or shine! Because you just never know in Humboldt. Please carpool if possible! Park at the Humboldt Unitarian Universalist Fellowship parking lot. What to bring: Reusable water bottle, mug for coffee/tea and a plate for your lunch What will be provided: Local grass-fed burgers, vegan sloppy joes and a prize to the largest rhizome winner!
