Bat Boy: The Musical

An adult only theatrical experience, Bat Boy: The Musical was inspired by a series of tabloid headlines published in 1992 by The Weekly World News claiming that a terrifying creature, half-man and half-bat, had been discovered in a cave, escaped, and was terrorizing the local dairy farmers. With music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe, who also wrote Legally Blonde, the Musical, this beat-driven rock score pays homage to the rock musicals of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. Bat Boy provides a compelling theatrical metaphor for the dangers of prejudice and provincialism, but with blood, guts and the occasional implied sex, Bat Boy is not a musical to bring the children to. Patrick Spike returns to direct this campy extravaganza which runs from April 14 – May 8 and is sponsored by Ferndale Clothing Company.
