Amrita Kaur Dang is a South Asian-American sitarist, vocalist, and composer who fuses experimental dance-pop, Indian classical music, electronics, and beat-driven psych for a genre she calls "Bollywave." She has shared bills with major artists including Grimes, Future Islands, A Hawk and A Hacksaw, Ariel Pink, Beach House, Wye Oak, Lil B, Bonnie Prince Billy, and Dan Deacon. Her next album 'Parted Plains,' featuring strictly sitar and electronics, will be released in 2019 on Leaving Records.
