Adulting 101: Wear It and Work It
At some point, you’re probably looking at moving from a job to a career. This class will discuss some of the ways to be successful in that quest. * Learn what industry leaders in Humboldt County say they are looking for in their ideal employees. * Learn to create your own opportunity for growth. * Learn the definition of work dress codes, from business casual to dressy casual to business formal. Join Charlie Heinberg and James Schaeffer, local actors and comedians with a little experience as adults and several years of financial literacy training, as they attempt to teach you everything you need to know to be a successful adult. Adulting 101 is a class about what YOU wish you knew as you're becoming more independent. They won't teach you how to fold a fitted sheet, but they can give you some tips to better understand what it means when you're buying car insurance, or how to protect your rights when you rent an apartment, or how to simply live on the amount of money you make. Each class will start with a tool box of topics, and the participants will determine the direction the instruction takes. When you leave, you'll have a basic understanding of each topic and two or three life hacks that will make you more effective in each area.
