27th Annual Trinidad Memorial Ceremony

Please join us for the 27th Annual Trinidad Memorial Ceremony honoring those lost or buried at sea, May 29th, 2 pm, Trinidad Bay Memorial Park (former location of the Memorial Lighthouse). Dana Hope officiates the beautiful ceremony, which features Matthew Marshall on bagpipes, an invocation by Rev. Nancy Streufert, the flag salute led by Boy Scout Troop 99, a stanza from Terminus read by Patti Fleschner and Amazing Grace sung by Samantha Day. A speaker from the Coast Guard will recognize the sacrifice of the 6 young men who died in rescue attempts. Trinidad Mayor Pro-Tem Jack Westwill toll the Lightkeeper's Cottage Bell 12 times, followed by the reading of 276 names of those memorialized. The Coast Guard helicopter flyover concludes the ceremony with Taps played by saxophonist Matthew Brogdon.
