20th Annual Sand Sculpture Festival

Grab your shovels and some friends and come build a sand sculpture at the 20th annual Friends of the Dunes Sand Sculpture Festival happening on Saturday, July 25 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Participation by all ages and skill levels is encouraged, cash prizes will be awarded! Spectators are welcome and donations are gladly accepted. The best time to view sculptures is noon to 3 p.m. with awards being announced around 2 p.m. Registration opens at 8 a.m. at the Manila Community Center, 1611 Peninsula Drive in Manila. The entry fee is $10 for teams of up to six people and $15 for teams of more than six. Register in advance at www.friendsofthedunes.org or at the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center and receive a $3 discount. This event is free for spectators, but a sliding scale of $1 to $5 per person donation is requested to support our school education programs.
