2017 Coastal Cleanup Day

38 years ago, Northcoast Environmental Center created Coastal Cleanup to combat against the vast amount of trash entering our oceans, and now it has become an international event held worldwide. Being the single largest volunteer event in support of the marine environment we ask you to help participate in cleaning up beaches, bays, rivers, and estuaries all over Humboldt county as a part of the Northcoast Environmental Center's 38th annual Coastal Cleanup Day! With there being over 60 locations for Coastal Cleanup Day there will be many opportunities to help. One way to begin your volunteering for this years Coastal Cleanup Day is by being a site captain. The site captain's job is to be the main point of contact for people involved in cleaning up your specific location. Want to have fun at the beach with some friends or family? Recruit them to help clean up your chosen beach! Another opportunity to assist the NEC in Coastal Cleanup Day is to just join a team of people cleaning up at your favorite beach. You can choose a beach of your choice, or join the NEC's team at South Clam Beach. Spread the word and create a fun day out of cleaning up our beaches!
