WEDNESDAY LOWDOWN: A Musical End of Civilization and Deadly Bird-Men

There's a Storm of Sedition brewing

Oh oy! It’s going to be a wake-the-dead Wednesday in Old Town as The Siren’s Song Tavern offers its newish stage to a trio of ear-pummeling ensembles, including headliner Storm of Sedition. The “DIY, anti-civilization, anarchist” crust punk band from British Columbia, “Kkkanada” are touring in support of their album Decivilize which you can listen to in its entirety — with lyrics! — at this fine link. The show takes place inside a building built by humans.

And, of course, it’s the always-worth-considering Sci-Fi Pint and Pizza Night at the Arcata Theatre Lounge, this week screening the cinematic swords and sandals time warp Ulysses Against The Son of Hercules (1961). While we weren’t able to dig up a trailer for the film online we did come across one troubling scene (watch below, maybe) featuring, one would assume, the “deadly bird-men” promised in the ATL-provided synopsis. Dance, bird-men! —AG
