THURSDAY LOWDOWN: The Night Eureka Accepted Its Free Eagles Tribute Band and Liked It

Enough! I don't want to read one more whiny, negative comment from the citizens of Eureka about how their town is going to shit, OK? Does Arcata get a free, outdoor concert with The Boys of Summer, the most "accurate" Eagles tribute band currently working, according to George Lopez? No they do not. You do.

So take a break from the Facebook wars and get your butt down to the Madaket Plaza at 6 p.m. this evening and sing along to "Hotel California," "Witchy Woman," and "Life in the Fast Lane," dammit. Hell, even though you don't deserve it, you might even get "The Last Resort" (no promises). You will dance to "Heartache Tonight" because this is a great time to be alive, got it?!

How much do The Boys of Summer sound like the Eagles, you may wonder? Fair question. Well, some radio DJ quoted on their website tells us that "they sounded so much like the real thing, I was worried about playing them on the station due to copyright laws." Yeah!

But don't take some DJ's word for it. Please watch this BoS promo video. Now! --AG
