Can You Dig It, Humboldt? Your Wednesday is highlighted by a night of music and poetry commemorating International Day of Peace at the Arcata Playhouse, the latest Pints for Nonprofits night — this one benefitting Friends of the Dunes and featuring music from Dogbone — at Mad River Brewery and your weekly Sci-Fi Pint and Pizza Night at the Arcata Theatre Lounge. This particular Wednesday the ATL is screening The Warriors, which seems to be a favorite here at LoCOHQ. Has Walter Hill’s 1979 cult film about warring New York City gangs that incited violence and vandalism upon its initial release aged well? Watching the trailer, below, would indicate perhaps not! And that’s part of the fun. What better way to celebrate International Day of Peace (oh, other than going to the Arcata Playhouse).
