In the Internet age, it is very important to choose a band name that won’t confuse people who might potentially want to listen to you. In short, be searchable. You want to make sure the series of letters you label your artistic vision with don’t overlap with more common things. This is your music! Like, if ‘70s rockers Boston were readying to first unleash their slick arena rock on earth’s ears today, one would assume they would select a different moniker. They seem like savvy marketers — all their albums sport that rawkin’ guitar spaceship — and Boston, as you may know, is already a major city that contains sports teams, Markets and newspapers.
We reached out to our buddy Tom Sebourn of KGOE (who co-produces the series) and he admitted he did not have any more info on the group scheduled to play tonight than we did. Huh. Then we tried a Google image search and, a ways down, look what popped up:
Is this the same band? There is really no way to know. But, if it is, the image suggests something potentially exciting: In addition to the logo for Boston (the band) it also features logos for Aerosmith, J. Geils Band and The Cars, other bands forged in the city of Boston. Hey hey! LoCO likes The Cars more than Boston (the band)! Perhaps this is good news! Show up at 6 p.m. at the foot of C Street to find out! --Andrew Goff

The new play, by Joan Schirle, explores our water woes with humor and song through a “Roger Rabbit meets Inspector Clouseau”-like detective story. The story digs into state water issues unfurling a mystery involving politicians, animals, fish, the river, and an assortment of characters.
