Thursday Lowdown: Standing Rock Benefit in Arcata Tonight

As long as you are standing for Standing Rock you may as well rock out, a bit.

Thursday night at The Jam in Arcata some of Humboldt's more progressive-minded musicians will gather for a Benefit for Standing Rock with the aim of raising money to assist activist efforts in South Dakota to halt construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline. Band roll call!: Dead tributes Miracle Show, cover band to beat The Undercovers, reggae rockers Irie Rockers, Neil Young tributes Shakey, Beatles tributes Silver Hammer, garage rockers Al Gorgeous, plus there will be guest speakers, fire dancers, aerial silk artists, funny people, etc.

If you love activism but hate crowds, know that KHUM's Bayley Brown will be broadcasting live from the event from 6 to 9 p.m. People have the power... to listen from home! Anyway, this thing starts at 5 p.m. More Thursday joy in your Lowdown listings below. —Andrew Goff
