Ahh! This is The Last Week of the 2016 Humboldt Crabs Season! Go!

Well, crap. As if we needed additional evidence that this summer is slipping through our digits, Humboldt’s boys of summer are preparing to hang up their jocks for the season and, just like every year, we feel we did not spend enough time chucking peanut shells to their under-bleacher graves nor did we hurl enough insults at uniformed strangers with odd confidence. We blew it!

Yes, sports fans, this is your last week to catch the Humboldt Crabs in action, but at least it’s a packed week. Savor it, maybe. The Crabs’ last two regular season games take place Tuesday and Wednesday nights against Bercovich Baseball (and we have full confidence LoCO readers will be capable of effectively rhyming “Bercovich” in their clever heckles). Then, Thursday through Sunday, the Arcata Ball Park will play host to the round-robin Humboldt Invitational Tournament featuring the Crabs, the Auburn Wildcats, the Solano Mudcats and the Alameda Merchants.

After that, summer is officially doneski. Suck.

Take yourself out to the few remaining ballgames and/or scour your Lowdown listings below for something more your speed. --Andrew Goff
