Wednesday Lowdown: One Humboldt Haunted House to Rule Them All

As if Humboldt hasn’t been scary enough lately, this week we endure all the spook schlock that goes along with the imminent Halloween holiday. Gah! OK, we'll play along.

As history has proven, locally no one gets more into the spirit of the season than the krew at the Haunted Kinetic Lab of Horrors. After taking a year off to replenish depleted dead baby supplies, the lab will be open to the public, from 7 p.m. to midnight, starting Wednesday night and running through Halloween at the Kinetic Sculpture Lab at the corner of Eighth and N streets in Arcata's Creamery District.

If you're looking for more chills tonight in Arcata, there are some dark rooms full of strangers there you could sit in. View trailers for films Goodnight Mommy and At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul playing at Richard's Goat's Miniplex and the Arcata Theatre Lounge, respectively. Boo yourself.
