Bill the Chimp's Life Story Immortalized in Song (VIDEO)

Way to be nonplussed by a 6.9 earthquake, Humboldt! It's something of a sleepy Monday on the Humboldt scene, which should give you plenty of time to clean up all the not-damage incurred last night.

As such, we're gonna use the Lowdown space to highlight a performance by Melody Walker and Jacob Groopman during their KHUM stop last week. The following clip features the song "Billy the Champ," which chronicles the life and times of the Sequoia Park Zoo's longtime resident Bill the Chimp -- "champ" being a reference to Bill's time spent as an ape boxer. The song is featured in studio form on the duo's latest album We Made it Home.
