Wednesday's Lowdown: Celebrate the Life and Times of Sinbad Tonight in Arcata

While your Lowdown is generally is a sucker for Pints for Nonprofits events (there is one tonight at the Mad River Brewery) and comedy open mics (check out the one tonight at the Palm Lounge) there is really only one event we can, in good faith, endorse this evening ...

A seminal, beloved figure in American comedy, Sinbad received his first big break in 1987 in the Cosby Show spin-off A Different World … and what a voyage its been since then.

Thankfully, the fine folks at the Arcata Theatre Lounge recognize that we could all benefit from an analysis of the life and times of the co-star of the 1992 film Necessary Roughness and have decided to tweak the format of their regular Sci-Fi Pint and Pizza Night in order to screen a film version of his life story. Huzzah! Let's take a glimpse at The Magic Voyage of Sinbad below, shall we?

Oh. That was something different entirely.

Well, there will be beer. Or check out what else is going on in your Wednesday Lowdown below.
