Humboldt Kids Need Toys
The Lowdown continues its countdown of ways you can giveth to thy community this holiday season by reminding you that kids, by definition, need toys! Like, need need. Of course, when families hit tough time$, other significantly less fun priorities can sometimes sadly seem more necessary -- food, heat, clothes ... stuff like that. Seriously, this is a tough season for many.
Thankfully, the heroic Humboldt Bay Firefighters will soon perform their annual Santa impression during their "Share the Magic of Christmas" Toy Drive. This year, the toy collecting will kick off at the Bayshore Mall on blackest Friday, Nov. 29 and run through Dec. 17. Pay it forward by dropping off "new and unwrapped" toys at any of the HBF stations and/or numerous businesses throughout Eureka (call 441-4000 for more info).
