Saturday, May 25, 2013's Lowdown

As we stated on yesterday's Lowdown, this weekend is all about the Kinetic Grand Championship. And while the Lost Coast Outpost will be kovering the race (too much) this year, we'll be the first to admit that Kinetics has enough hype goin' for it. (Here's your komplete guide if you need it. See?)

Instead, we wanted to use the koveted ... oops, coveted Saturday Lowdown slot to "leak" tracks from the new Lord Ellis album that will be released officially at tonight's show at The Alibi. Have you not encountered Lord Ellis yet? If you've been around Humboldt enough, you've seen its parts scattered through other bands. The lineup of Roshawn Beere (bass), Steve Bohner (drums/beard), Pablo Midence (guitar) and Andy Sorter (keyboards) bring enough melodic heaviness to spare (listen below). On this night, they'll be joined on the bill by hard rock trio out Washington Mos Generator. Oh, and if you pay to get in you get a free CD.

So yes, put some local music in your ears in digital form below and live and in person Saturday. And there's plenty more goin' on in Humboldt, Kinetic and not, in your Lowdown farther down.
