The high season on the Kinetic Kalendar gets underway on Saturday with the annual Rutabaga Ball taking place at Arcata's Portuguese Hall. With the surprise, last-minute addition of the controversial Johnny BerryPicker to the candidate's list emotions should run high. BerryPicker will face steep competition from Lady Luck -- who the Lowdown is just gonna come out and call the favorite -- and Naughty 'n' Nice.
The winner of tonight's odd festivities goes on to be the 2013 Rutabaga Queen who will oversee next weekend's Kinetic Grand Championship. Big responsibility.
