Since this week is mostly a countdown to Oyster Fest 2013, let's talk after parties. Whether you're going to the Fest or not you should know by now that the party doesn't stop when the final oyster is shucked. Arcata will be bustlin' all night with some respectable shows worth your consideration:

• Tigerbomb!: Humboldt's only Guided By Voices tribute ever returns after eight years to romance The Alibi faithful. (Local rock gods Lord Ellis have stepped up to open the show. The Ian Fays was originally scheduled to fill out the bill but had to cancel.)
• Yogoman Burning Band and Motherlode: Didn't get enough of Oyster Fest's musical acts? Two of them will move the ruckus indoors to the Jambalaya where the scene smells less bivalve-y. This is being referred to as "the official Oyster Fest After Party." But whatever.
• Vagabond Opera: Do you crave Ukrainian folk-punk ballads? Then the Arcata Theatre Lounge has you covered O-Fest night with this Bohemian cabaret. The night will also feature the debut of mysterious local band The Hip Joint.
• Brett McFarland: If you'd like to take the chaos down a notch, head on over to the Arcata Playhouse and decompress with local singer/songwriter McFarland and openers Berel Alexander and Bangarang.
• Miracle Show: And finally, Dead songs to keep you truckin' into Sunday's wee hours.

Choose wisely, oyster eaters! Only rock as hard as your slimy stomachs can handle.
