Lowdown: Your Humboldt Weekend

It's a particularly musical Saturday in Humboldt.

Reggae on the River is in full swing. If you plan on heading south, be prepared for some delays through Piercy. Bonafide Marley, Julian, headlines Saturday night's lineup. If you're reading this we're guessing you didn't plan ahead for a weekend at ROTR, so if you're thinking of making a last minute trip you can secure a single day Saturday ticket for $75.

Out in Blue Lake, the annual Buddy Brown Blues Festival will fill Perigot Park with crowd pleasing, not-limited-to-blues sounds. This year's lineup: Anna Hamilton (11 a.m.), True Gospel Singers (12:15 p.m.), ShinBone (1:30 p.m.), Jim Lahman Band (2:45 p.m.), Buddy Reed and the Rip It Ups (4 p.m.) and Blacksage Runners (5:15 p.m.). Remember, "sunny" Blue Lake. That's important.

Think of the children! Humboldt Light Opera Company's musical Shrek continues its opening weekend at the Van Duzer Theatre. Your LoCO has been promised flying dragons. We plan to collect.

But those things above are just the tip of the funberg! More in your Saturday Lowdown below.
